The great debate: clean vs. dirty

If you answered CLEAN you are CORRECT ✅

well mostly clean. Here’s what we mean …

One can argue that freshly washed locks provide a clean canvas for your stylist to work with. Without any product buildup or natural oils present, the hair is more receptive to color, ensuring even application and optimal results. Additionally, clean hair allows your stylist to accurately assess the hair's condition and make informed decisions about the coloring process. Clean hair also tends to be more manageable during the coloring process. Your stylist can section the hair with ease, ensuring that every strand receives the attention it deserves.

On the flip side, proponents of dirty hair argue that unwashed locks offer certain benefits that can enhance the coloring process. The natural oils and buildup present in dirty hair create a protective barrier, which can help minimize scalp sensitivity and irritation.

If you do decide to come with freshly clean hair please make sure it is fully dry. A color service cannot be applied to wet hair which will result in the stylist needing to dry it first therefore cutting into the time they have available to do your color service!

So, where does the truth lie in this debate? Wash your hair a day or two before your appointment. That is a perfect compromise for you and your stylist!
